Thermal Paper: Defined Thermal paper is lightweight paper with a one-sided application of heat sensitive coating, typically used for fax machines, computer printouts and medical imaging applications. Thermal paper has a chemical or wax coating on its face which darkens when heat is applied. The image is produced in the print process through the use of a heated stylus passing across the paper. Possible commercial solutions using thermal paper include filling station pumps, information kiosks, point of sale systems, ATMs and parking kiosk solutions. |
